Vincenzo Amato

New Sculpture

Vincenzo Amato was born in 1966 in Palermo, Sicily, he began working with steel as a designer and fabricator of steel furniture in Rome. Living on the Lower East Side since 1993, he has worked for the City of New York building steel structures, assisted the Greek sculptor Chryssa and continues to work on projects for the American artist Jim Dine. Vincenzo has had five solo shows at The Earl McGrath Gallery and has shown abroad since 1995, he recently was the sole representative of young Italian artists at the Seventh International Cairo Biennale. He has also exhibited in Rome, Palermo and Milan.
