John James' work is concerned with
the urban environment in all its complexity, from building and construction
through to use, abuse, decay, demolition and regeneration. All aspects
of the built environment are examined with a cool and objective
eye. He has developed a particular interest in the written/painted
word and use of language in the urban scene.
James has travelled and worked in India, Russia, New York Italy,
and has recently returned from a one man exhibition of his work
at the State Museum of Urban Sculpture in St Petersburg.
He lives and works in Brentford, West London.
